This week ended our Uncensored series. I’m pretty sure Timm is glad, but I thought it was a much-needed series for RPC to hear. Also, it was Justin’s birthday and he sang and he played guitar and he played drums. All at the same time!

This week was on leadership, and Timm gave us a peek at what it’s like to lead RPC. He preached out of Genesis 41:33-40. Here are some of the high points:

  • “I like to be popular. I like to be liked.”
  • “I don’t have a hat, but if I did…..”
  • We have a responsibility to speak truth in people’s lives. – And it may be unpopular.
  • I want you to understand what it’s like to lead at RPC.
  • As a leader you have to decide whether you’re going to please people or lead people. This is true at ALL levels of leadership.
  • “People are greedy.”
  • Leaders have to put their big boy pants on.
  • All good principles are God principles.
  • Leadership is more about being steady than being flashy.
  • The biggest leadership opportunity you have is at home. – The stakes are too high.
  • Your kids may say “I hate you.” Lead anyway.
  • Good leadership decisions pay off HUGE. – Just not right away.
  • You’re not a good leader until you’re a good follower.
  • If you were set free from trying to please people, how would you lead? – Lead that way.

That’s it for me. I’m preaching the next two weeks, so I may not do a rewind on myself. Have a good week.
