That’s what I’ve been giving you for the last few months. And it’s been on purpose.

I didn’t do it to hurt you. Actually, I did it to keep from hurting you.

You see, I have been hurting for the past few months, and I recognize that hurting people hurt other people. So, I went silent in an attempt to not hurt anyone – intentionally or otherwise.

I’m glad to say that I am on the upside of the healing process, and feel as though I can communicate again without pain and anger coming out.

It feels good to be back. Thanks for being patient with me.

I’ve been following The Church of No People for a few months now, and I like what they have to say. It’s funny and insightful. The premise is what would you do or say if it wasn’t about the people, but about God.

So check them out. See what you think. If you need a little more persuasion, they’re giving away a chance to win a book, Chick-fi-A and a t-shirt, so it’s a win-win-win-win.

Don’t say I never do anything for you.

Welcome to the new site.

Pretty much nothing has changed, except for the address.

It’s kinda like a Twilight Zone episode.

Leave me a comment so I know you made it here OK.

I remember the days when my reader would be full of new posts, just begging to be read. Now out of 39 blogs, I get about 15 new posts a day. And 2 of them are daily bible verses.

It reminds me of when I was away at college (read: prison) and I would apply for credit cards just to get rejection letters in my mailbox so as not to look like a loser checking an empty mailbox 3 times a day. (That was a long sentence.)

But really, where has everyone gone? Are they on Twitter? Did they go grassroots? Are they reviving the Postal Service and sending postcards? Are smoke signals making a comeback? (I don’t even know what “going grassroots” means, but I’m grasping at straws here.) (I really don’t even know what “grasping at straws” means, so there.)

Can someone please tell me where the bloggers have gone?

It’s been quiet around here lately.

I always have plenty to say, but right now I’ve had little energy or creativity to say it with.

So I give you the all-skate. Give me a question or a topic and I will answer or discuss.

Or don’t and I won’t.

Ready? Go. Or not, whatever.

Today’s Positive Post is dedicated to The Blue Room.

It’s a place where I’ve laughed, cried, made inappropriate comments and had my mind stretched beyond it’s tensile strength. The Blue Room is also 40% of the reason I started blogging. You see, its author happens to be a good friend of mine. This said friend pressured cajoled strong-armed urged me to share my ideas with the world. (Now the joke’s on him and the rest of you.) Today is significant, because a year ago today, said friend and author entered my life. We didn’t actually meet until a few weeks later, but it was a year ago when the intersection occurred. I have never been the same, and I thank God for that.

There are some people who you wonder how you existed before you met them, and you’re certain you couldn’t go on without them. Travis is one of those people for me.

Do me a favor. Head over to the Blue Room and say hi. You’ll be glad you did.

It’s Friday again! What are the odds? Like 1 in 5 or something. Well, here goes.

1) My back. Is. Killing. Me. I don’t know what I did, but I wish I hadn’t. Whoever has the voodoo doll, please stop. Thanks.

2) Catalyst is in 5 days. I’m excited about going for the first time. I’m not real excited about leaving the family again. I hope to meet some of the bloggers I follow, like her and him and this guy and  that guy and this guy, but I’m especially stoked to see and hear this guy. I’ve been paying the most attention to him lately. Should be an energizing and draining 3.5 days.

3) My hall shower is getting fixed, and not by me. I had every intention of tiling the shower myself, but I have very little time and experience. Fortunately, a friend in construction had some time, and I had some money, so VIOLA! It should be finished next week. Did I mention that my wife has been VERY patient with me through this?

4) Being a t-ball coach is hard work. I took a bat to the shin on Tuesday. The knot has mostly gone down.

5) Work and church are both crazy right now. Huge things are happening in both places. Lots of work, too. That equals tired Michael.

That’s it for me. Happy Friday!

It’s the first of the month again, and you know what that means. Government checks! Oh, no, I mean Link Love. That time when I give a shout out to the top 5 people who gave me a shout out last month and sent me the most traffic.

Timm Collins – Steady at the top of Link Love once again. He’s been at the top since I started Link Love. Can anyone dethrone him? Tune in next month to find out…….

Blue Room Worthy – Also known as Travis Thompson. Or #2 at RPC. Ironically, he’s been in the #2 spot on Link Love all three months, although he had some stiff opposition from #3.

Pinky68 – Climbing one spot from last month, she was only one link away from #2. So close, yet so far.

Tabby Bottoms– She disappeared last month, but reappeared and gained a spot. It may have had something to do with the Spongebob joke, I’m not sure.

Emily.the.Strange – Previously holding strong at #3 the last two months. I feel our friendship waning.

Honorable Mention – Although this post is dedicated to actual people, I must give a shout out to my friends over at A&E. Their Intervention series, specifically the one on Emily from season 4, has sent me 258 visitors last month. That’s as much as this month’s top 5 combined! Thanks A&E and Emily.

That’s it for this month. Be sure to check out the links here, and tell them I sent you. Check back next month to see if Timm and Travis stay 1 & 2, and if Emily drops out of the top 5. I can hardly wait.

I’m convinced that every weekend is crazy and jam-packed, and that sabbath = Sunday afternoon nap. Here’s this weekend’s wrap-up.

  • Took the kids to a birthday party at the park for our friends.
  • Performed a backyard wedding between storms. Let’s just say I’m glad I stuck to my guns on payment.
  • Went to a birthday party for my friend’s girlfriend. Quote of the night, “I know who you are. I’ll try not to disrespect you. I’m sorry I didn’t meet you sober.”
  • Sunday services at RPC rocked! Gabe brought it. And my friend Bobby McCue made his speaking debut. It was Bobby’s first time in the barrel, and he knocked it out of the park. He spoke on Luke 16:10-13 about chasing the American dream vs. following God. His big idea was We come to church to be entertained and we go to culture to be taught. The part that got me was the footnote about Abraham and Isaac – The Lord will provide the sacrifice. Good stuff! BTW – Bobby doesn’t blog, and we don’t know why.
  • Ate lunch at Sonny’s with our family group. I love our family group. Who are you in community with?
  • Sunday afternoon nap! I highly recommend it!

That’s my wrap-up for this weekend. Anything I missed?
